Garden as Ecosystem
Kristina Niovi Jones, Director of the Wellesley College Botanic Gardens and a faculty member in Biological and Environmental Studies at the College, will present “Garden as Ecosystem”.
How can you create an ecosystem in your own garden, be it large or small? By combining plants into “guilds” – diverse assemblages of plants growing in healthy, self-sufficient ecosystems. Kristina Jones will explore the functions and interrelationships of organisms in natural plant communities and how they can be applied to our gardens.
Dr. Jones holds a Bachelor of Science from Stanford University and a Ph.D. from the University of California.
