Starting vegetable and herb seedlings at home is a great way to become a more self-sufficient gardener, save money, and grow exactly the varieties you want for your garden. We’ll cover tips on timing and setup for successful home seed starting, including recommendations on containers, soil mixes, lights and seeds. Growers of all levels are welcome to come learn and share their knowledge.
As Engagement Manager for the Trustees Boston Community Gardens, Michelle de Lima teaches in-person and online gardening programs for adults of varying experience levels on a range of topics. She has been farming and gardening in New England since 2007. Michelle loves to grow vegetables, herbs, and flowers from seed to harvest, and to use them in preserves, ferments, and medicines of all kinds! She’s always grateful for an opportunity to talk about plants with other gardeners.
