Ann McGovern, Consumer Waste Reduction Coordinator from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection Agency, will talk about improving your soil while getting rid of nearly half of your household garbage at the same time. She will give a demonstration on “Easy Composting – How to Turn Garbage into Gold.” And Vithal Deshpande, Somerville’s Environmental Coordinator, will be at the meeting to talk about recycling and composting in Somerville.
All Somerville Garden Club meetings are free and open to the public. Meetings are usually held the second Wednesday of each month at the Tufts Administration Building, (TAB), 167 Holland Street, second floor, wheelchair accessible. Parking is available, and the building is a ten-minute walk from the Davis Square MBTA stop.
