Clematis slideshow

For anyone who attended the meeting in June, when Cheryl Monroe spoke about clematis, you will remember that after her talk, the room was abuzz with excitement. Between some beautiful slides featuring a wide variety of the species and in-person examples that were passed around, attendees were ready right then and there to add a clematis to every rose bush in their yards.

Whether or not you attended that meeting, you should take a look at this slideshow. Some of these clematis are less commonly seen (okay, not ‘Polish Spirit’). I may need to find a spot for a couple or three.

Meeting – August 15, 7-9pm

NOTE: This August’s meeting will be on the third Wednesday

Garden Bounty

The August meeting focuses on the ‘Garden Bounty’ grown by Somerville Garden Club members. Members will bring in samples of fresh or cooked produce from their own gardens to share, and will also talk about growing the produce and how it was prepared. There will also be a group exchange of gardening questions and answers.

All Somerville Garden Club meetings are free and open to the public. Meetings are usually held the second Wednesday of each month at the Tufts Administration Building, (TAB), 167 Holland Street, second floor, wheelchair accessible. Parking is available, and the building is a ten-minute walk from the Davis Square MBTA stop.
