Introduction to Plant Diseases

Jennifer Clifford, Plant Pathologist teaching at Boston College, will present an introduction to plant diseases. Her program will include a brief history of plant disease, the basic concept of how diseases came about, as well as some of the common diseases of home garden plants, fruit crops and vegetables.

All Somerville Garden Club meetings are free and open to the public. Meetings are usually held the second Wednesday of each month at the Tufts Administration Building, (TAB), 167 Holland Street, second floor, wheelchair accessible. Parking is available, and the building is a ten-minute walk from the Davis Square MBTA stop.

Urban Backyards: Raising Honey Bees, Chickens, and Pond Fish

Members of the Somerville Garden Club will share their expertise on keeping bees, raising chickens, and tending pond coy and goldfish in their urban backyards. PowerPoint slides as well as demos will be included.
