Invasive Species Action – Swallow-wort

I’m adding more educational links regarding Swallow-wort, aka Dog-Strangling Vine. Great timing, as I’m seeing their seed pods all over the city.

Start a Pod Patrol today!

Black Swallow-wort is one of the most aggressive invasive weeds, and it is spreading at Fresh Pond and throughout Cambridge (and Somerville). You can help limit its further spread by removing the jalapeno pepper-like seed pods before they release their wind-borne seeds. The Pod Patrol is sponsored by Fresh Pond Reservation Volunteer Stewards, the City of Cambridge, Grow Native Massachusetts, Friends of Fresh Pond Reservation, and CentersAndSquares.com.
